Bengaluru Woman Arrested for Boyfriend’s Murder; Police Probe Premeditated Angle

A woman has been arrested by Bengaluru Police for allegedly killing her boyfriend in a shocking incident that investigators believe was premeditated. The accused, identified as Prema, was taken into custody on Wednesday following the death of her boyfriend Kiran at a house in Anjananagar.
According to police officials, the couple had been in a relationship for nearly two years. Recent tensions reportedly arose after Kiran reconnected with his former girlfriend, which may have led to a fallout. Police said Prema contacted him from another number and persuaded him to meet her, promising reconciliation and a surprise “western-style proposal.”
Investigators allege that once Kiran arrived, he was restrained and later set on fire, leading to his death. The accused initially claimed it was a suicide, but forensic evidence contradicted her statement. Police sources indicate that she may have planned the act in advance and purchased items online to execute it.
Authorities have recovered digital evidence, including a video from her phone, and are examining whether others were involved. Further investigation is ongoing.
